If you are planning to attend a Community College during the 2022-2023 school year, you can submit the FAFSA application after the March 2 deadline.

Step 1: Create your FSA ID, website- https://fsaid.ed.gov
- Purpose: When you create the FSA ID, you are create the username and password that you need to log in to the FAFSA application.
- What do you need: Full legal name, social security number, create security questions, etc.
- Tips: Open site from your college tracker (located in the Class of 2021 google class) and add your username, password, and security questions to the college tracker after you create your FSA ID.
- Additional Information: If your parents are US citizens or permanent legal residents they will also need an FSA ID. If you have siblings that have completed the FAFSA, they may have an FSA ID for your parents which you can also use. If your parents are not UC citizens or permanent residents, they will mail a signature page instead of creating an FSA ID.

Step 2: Complete the FAFSA Application, website: https://fafsa.gov
- Purpose: To qualify for federal and state student aid like the cal grant and pell grant.
- What do you need: Colleges you are applying to, parents 2019 federal incomes taxes, students 2019 income taxes (if student worked), etc.
- Tips: Open site from your college tracker (located in the Class of 2021 google class) and add your username, password, and security questions to the college tracker (same username and password as the FSA ID).
- Additional Information: You should complete this form with your parents. After you submit, you can log in again to make changes. This application will be sent to each school that you add in the school section of the application. You will have submit this application every year that you are in college. Deadline to apply is March 2, 2021.
